Fostering children’s thinking skills is important for children’s ability to understand bigger ideas in their lives and the world around them. Teachers can effectively foster thinking skills by:

  1. Using the scientific method to provide tasks where children can observe, predict, and experiment.
  2. Creating opportunities for children to solve problems.
  3. Helping children apply knowledge by building on their natural curiosity and drawing upon their everyday experiences.

    The 5 E Model that was discussed in the past I only thought of it for Science. Using it for all subjects to teach students problem solving skills and to give them more experiences help to build their curiosity and want to learn more.
