Assignment #4
Reflect on teaching practices and strategies discussed during Session II. Recall the strategy you chose to implement. Consider the following guiding questions.
- What strategy did you chose to implement?
- What was your experience with the strategy?
- How did your students respond?
- What went well?
- Is there anything you might do differently?

I chose to implement scaffolding. I feel that I am good at this during small group. I tier the assignments to each student's ability level. For example, when ordering numbers, I have students who can do it 0-20 without a visual aid. I have students who can do it 0-10, but need a number line to double check their product. I only give them this aid if I see my gradual release of responsibility not working. I also have students who I only order numbers 0-5, with the assistance of an aid throughout the completion process. So for them, it is almost like a matching game.

DeleteI would like to become more natural with scaffolding during large group time. I tend to call on the higher students to reply if a lower student is having difficulty. I need to get out of that habit!
I see that I was the only post for assignment 4, so I cannot comment on two of them.
